ES 6.8.4 support

could you build a version for elasticsearch 6.8.4 ?

currently it stopped to 6.8.3 , then 7.x

as you see I am soooo late, upgrading from 6.2 to 6.8.4 , to prepare for upgrade to 7.4 …

ES/KBN 7.4 is really nice, lots of new stuff. Highly recommended.

yeah , this is the final goal.

my run is like :

  • remove sentinl plugin

  • upgrade beats from 6.2 to 6.8 ( and fix them…)

  • upgrade logstash(es) form 6.2 to 6.8

  • upgrade elasticsearch cluster and kibana and Ror from 6.2 to 6.8

  • get ride of stunnel and start using ror internode ssl

  • learn in the same time the keystore java stuff

  • then upgrade in same way from 6.8 to 7.4

  • study if new sentinel still value-add

  • in a next step, rewrite all indices to ECS standard.

  • play with siem if possible

  • take a lonng lonngg break

Sounds like an excellent plan!
BTW: I’m eager to get your feedback about the internode_ssl feature! Finally replacing the good old stunnel :slight_smile:

once done, i will tell you.

i think the strongest part, is to migrate node by node, having an hybrid configuration with stunnel for non yet migrated, and ssl_T for other …

Should I wait for 1.18.9 or can i go with 1.18.8 ? or should i go with 1.18.9_pre13 ?

i say that because i saw several disucssion, and i am in confoguration of cluster, and cluster wide config for RoR.

I am going to switch to stack 6.8.4 this week, and stack 7.4 next weeks, that’s why i ask

Make sure the Elasticsearch plugin will be 1.18.9*. We are going to release today.
