I don’t have much idea about elasticsearch/Kibana security. So my requirement is very simple all i want my kibana to authenticate users form my LDAP, After login there is a restriction based on users.
So should i install kibana plugin only or both kibana and elasticsearch to get this work.

If you install any version of our Kibana plugin, then installing the Elasticsearch plugin is required too. Installing the ES plugin alone was acceptable only with very old versions of Kibana.
LDAP authentication and authorization is part of our free tier, so you can go to Download (UNIVERSAL) - ReadonlyREST and get the ES plugin, and Kibana plugin (free version) for your Elastic stack version.
